Was the $140 cash or check?
If it's a check, then what you're describing is common. The bank will not let you have the whole thing until the check clears.
Did you put it all in in the same form? For example, if you put in $100 in cash and $40 as a check, they won't be available at the same time. Or you could have a pending transaction, depending on what sort of account you have.
Many banks require that you have a certain amount of money in your account.
I put 140$ in my bank account the other day and only 100 of those 140 is available to me to spend my balance says 140 but my available funds is only 100 I use CIBC if that helps at all
