Take Goldcorp (GG) as an example. For March 31, they reported earnings on 5/1. It seems reasonable to expect them to report roughly the same amount of time after quarter end, so around 8/1.
There is a pattern to earnings reports each quarter:
- Alcoa is usually the first industrial to report, kicking off "earnings season"
- Lots of banks in the 2nd week of the quarter
- Larger companies in the 3rd and 4th weeks of the quarter
- Smaller companies and stragglers in the 5th and 6th weeks.
Also note that not all companies use calendar quarters. Most retailers use a January fiscal year end because the Christmas season and after-Xmas sales are so important to results.
Thanks, this was very helpful.
No matter where I look I cannot find the most recent quarterly financial statements (6/30/2014) for any goldmining corporations. I have tried morningstar, yahoo, and google. The all have the 3/30/2014 quarterlies, and almost all other companies 6/30/2014 quarterly financials are posted on all of these sites.
