Go ahead and finish high school, and see about college.
If you can't stomach a loss you won't be staying in day-trading for the next fourty years, so let's plan on having a Plan B.
The ups and downs you describe are the same way I felt when I got addicted to gambling. It nearly ruined me.
But Plan B worked, and I can still earn a good income as an engineer.
Day Trading is gambling and extremely risky - and if you have you own house and are living on your own, why do you care what your family thinks or says?
You can go to college after you go broke.
yes
And your question is???
I'm barely 18, this is my last year of high school, and I'm in a bad situation.
Just to briefly describe my situation: I come from a very poor family, but I'm not to fond of allowing history to repeat itself. Unlike my consumer level idiot family members, I've always wanted to become rich. After becoming a sales representative for a large financial software firm, and after spending nearly a year personally studying Stocks and how the markets work. I recently started trading stocks. Surprisingly to me, I'm doing very well. The only downside is, i'm still in highschool. I'm do a lot of investing, but I also do a lot of day trading. Today I almost lost $5,000 in a stock because I wasn't able to get to a computer, and I get introuble when i skip school to day trade.
I would rather drop out completely. But the only problem with that is I have a family who still has this mindset that you MUST go to college to have a good paying job. And even though I could drop out, I would have them on my backs 24/7. Which really pisses me off.
I'm barely 18, I come from a POOR family, I already own my own home, car, and I got 5 digits in the bank. I DO NOT need a g*dda*n diploma.
I'm just really confused. What should I do? I was okay with completing school, but today when I came close to loosing 5 grand, It had me shaking up a bit. I hate this position, I literally lose money by attending school.
