High school student investment?

Posted at: 2014-12-05
I'm a 16 yo junior in high school. I'm in a tight spot and need money. I have 1$ and want to know how I can invest it to make more money a legal way.

The $ goes in front of the number, not behind it. $1 invested in a bank account at even .5% interest (which would be a lot for a bank account these days) wouldn't actually return anything. You would never make money on your dollar. In this case, I'd advise asking an 18-year old to buy a lottery ticket for you with your dollar. The chances of winning are very, very small, but better than an invested single dollar earning anything.
