They are more interested in a person that can take an idea and run with it, manage it, and make it successful than they are interested in the idea itself. If you make them find a CEO, you get left in the dust with a pittance if you still really want these investors.
You will not be happy with these investors even if you do find them. They will want control of your company if they are to invest their money. They will have a way of doing things that will not agree with yours. They may even oust you. You will think you are doing business with the devil, and wonder why you ever contacted them. Be careful what you wish for.

This question is asked often here on Yahoo Question/Answers. Just enter “Venture Capital” in the “Search Y! Answers” box. Your local library probably has an entire reference section devoted to researching and developing ideas and creating a business plan. It is the section for entrepreneurs.

A lot of people starting a business will however partially fund the start up themselves and use there own savings and obtain a loan. Some will ask people they know to partner with them in exchange for covering some of the start up costs.
I am interested to know how people actually search for investors for their idea. I know you can find an angel investment company and contact them, but is that ever a case that investors would be actually searching for projects themselves?
