Look into Vanguard Funds.... the trick is to get into mutual funds with very LOW fees. A tremendous amount of money is eaten up in fees when you invest in the usual mutual funds.
So take a look at "Index Funds" - and the fees will be sometimes 90% less. Index funds is where the rich people dump their money and forget that it exists. There's quite a lot you can read about these on Vanguard and on other sites.
The trick is to KEEP the money you have and not buy health care and vacations for stock brokers.
