Investing questions?

First of all, don't go all out. Diversify your portfolio. Investing in the stock market is simply buying a piece of the company, hoping the company will grow before you cash out, or receive a dividend.

If your business is worth $100, and I invest $10 into your company, effectively I own 10% of your company (but it is more complicated than that!).

You can invest as much as you want. There is no limit.

If APPL is at $99.62, it is indeed at $99.62 a share. Multiply this number by their volume gives you an idea how big this company is. This company was split 7:1, was a month or 2 ago the share price was actually $697.34.

Tune into CNBC and Bloomberg. Read the news and read books.

the prices shown are the prices you would pay PLUS broker commission per trade. Read magazines like Kiplinger's and Money to start learning about investing

I'm planning on investing, but first i'm trying to educate myself before i go all out.

how does investing work first of all?

how much can I invest?

I looked at apple's stock. as of today it said that it was at 99.62

what does that mean? does that mean that I would have to invest 99.62 to purchase a share? not interested in apple that was used as an example.

enlighten me.
