Is Bitcoin a ponzi scheme?

Posted at: 2014-12-05
Recently I read stories about bitcoin being the biggest ponzi scheme ever. Has anyone invested in or bought bitcoins. what do you think?

Bitcoin isn’t an "investment". It is a gamble. They have no value on their own. The buyer is hoping that for some unknown reason, the trading price will go up instead of down, and that he can outguess the public and sell at the best price.

I can see a similarity to a Ponzi scheme but it doesn't seem to fit the definition. The buyer would like many others to get excited and buy, but there is no direct incentive to do so.

. .

Bitcoin is not a Ponzi Scheme:

It's not a ponzi scheme, but it is certainly a very risky investment. I've got some, but my reasons are not the same as anyone else's. If you have to ask, you haven't done enough research. At this time, the value of bit coin is not the software or the network. Its true value lies in the idea behind bit coin. The current price volatility combined with its past increase in valuation is something you need to consider. The world's currencies are all unbacked. Anyone who thinks bit coin is a ponzu scheme does not know what a ponzu scheme is. Bitcoin could totally collapse, but that does not make it a ponzu scheme.

No, definitely not.

A Ponzi scheme relies on new investors covering the costs of existing investors. For example investor A deposits £1000 for £100 interest. Investor B deposits £1000 but £100 is taken out to pay investor A and so on.

There are many articles on Bitcoins but most people do not undertsand it so the articles are not usually accurate. The link below may help. Written by someone who is tech savvy.

"Anyone who thinks bit coin is a ponzu scheme does not know what a ponzu scheme is."

I love this line.

Folks, I bring you the Bitcoin "investor". Bitcoins are the stupidest investment on the planet. It's like the pseudo smart figured out about fiat currency and then the inventors of Bitcoin (and a few others) decided to get them to defraud themselves while telling everyone how clever they are....

Sure sounds like it to me! A giant house of cards backed by nothing but air.

its not, if you dont trust it, try http://www.freedailycoins.com - nothing to lose and everything to gain!
