This is a very dangerous stock right now - the value of Blackberry depends on the comany making value out of something other than its smartphone which is rapdly disappearing from the markets. You could make a fortune if someone finds a way of making money from the millions of Blackberry customers - other than selling them a smartphone. Once upon a time Nokia was the king of cell phones and once upon a time, Kodak was the king of photography and oncee upon a time Sears was the giant in retailing. But then there was Apple - smal failing PC maker that found a way to becoming the biggest company by market cap on the planet.
Like I said it's a gamble.
Why?
Do you think some magic new product will make the iphone obsolete?
Have you done detailed analysis that shows Blackberry is a great value?
Have a legitimate reason for buying a stock, not just a whim.
In 5 years...will Blackberry still exist. If there is any doubt. It is not investing...it's gambling and that is different than investing.
I want to buy 100 shares of Blackberry Ltd (TSE). Thoughts, advice?
