Stock:more important to anticipate public opinion?

That's the age old question in stock trading. The public opinion is roughly split 50/50.

Which side is correct? Well I only invest in companies that are actually doing well, and you'll find the same goes for the more successful investors. Think of the investors on Shark Tank, or guys like Warren Buffett. These people don't speculate (gamble) with their investments.

Neither. The market is trying to discount the future. It is how companies will be doing in 6/9 months time or what people think they will be doing.

When investing in stock, is it more important to know how well a company's actually doing, or how other people may "think" the company's doing? Cuz ultimately it's what the majority of people think that drives the prices, right?
