Currency speculation is essentially a gamble - will the AUD catch up or not ? Who knows - over a year to go even the pundits could get it wrong - it depends so much on what happens, not only in the respective countries concerned but also what happens in the rest of the world - see how what is happening to the Argentine 'peso' is affecting financial markets in the rest of the world - the FTSE 100 in the UK has fallen every day this week, it seems. At this moment I doubt anyone could give you sensible advice on what to do. Sorry !
it also depends on your own financial position now and how would an saving account with a bank balance of bigger then zero affects your financial position towards the UK tax and how affects it to your tax position in Australia
I am currently living in Australia but will be moving back to the uk next year. As the pound is getting stronger, my savings have basically halved! I'm not sure whether to transfer my savings now or gamble and hope that the aud gets stronger. Any advice or forecasts? Thanks for any input.
