All firms are different and there is a big difference between traders and stock brokers, and not all stock brokers and traders are paid bonuses.
Sales reps for a regular brokerage firm are paid a bonus only when they meet their assigned goals which are set by the individual firm. Many brokerage firm will pay a bonus to the sale rep if they have generated a substanital amount above their routine commissions.
Traders are usually paid a bonus on trading profit they generate after they are charged all cllearing fees, office or facilities expenses aand use of capital fees. This amount depends on individual lfirms/
Most firms do not have trader/sales reps, major firms employ sales reps and traders, but most do not have trader/sales reps

The profit share will be in their contract.
It will be a percentage of the firm's trading profit or a percentage of the trader's profit.
How else??
I know that stock traders and brokers can make a ton of money off of bonuses but what determines how much it is?
