What to do to prepare yourself for Investment Banking?

Currently finishing GCSE; what is there to do to prepare yourself if you plan on going into the industry of Investment Banking or if you want to join a Hedge Fund?

Thank you

Move to Connecticut and make some friends.

The other answer is American.

Have you actually googled Investment banks and their requirements.

They require A levels and a degree from a top Uni preferably a 2.1 or a first. There is a very long process with exams and several interviews. One of the hardest careers to get into , and you sound like you think, I'll just leave school and get a job and become very rich.

Please google it.

You need actual investment experience, or you might be turned down at the door (unfortunately). If you become a broker (which is easier, since you only need a license), you may never actually net in any investors, since they want people who have actually invested and earned money (which is ironic). And I'm sure you're not looking to do some sort of clerical job.

You're better off trying to get into an internship or something of the sort. That'll get you where you want to be, easier. The truth is harsh, but it's the truth. There's a reason why most people in the investment field are older people.

Before you jump into the investment field, you should know that you're legally required to have insurance, which does cost you money. Unless you know you can grab customers, or earn enough to offset that expense, you shouldn't jump in just yet.

Or, you can always just go for a clerical job. Although that's just generic office work.
