Why are so many stocks falling today?

Forget the saying "sell in May and go away" - June, especially the second half, is the worst period historically for the stock market. I believe the market is overbought and could stand a correction of 5-10%. The market has been ignoring the fact that the world economy is still very sluggish, and now add to that the civil war in Iraq which will certainly lead to higher oil prices.

The majority of investors have a herd-like mentality. If bad economic news comes out, they sell out of fear of others selling. This behavior can snowball into a moderate to significant dip in the market.

Realize the market constantly fluctuates up and down in waves. The key to successful investing is to not let fear or greed drive your decisions, and rather make your decisions based on business fundamentals.

Iraq is collapsing - oil shock warning - we are all in trouble.

Conflict in Ukraine - NATO troops moving forward into the new NATO countries - forward deployment and increased munitions deliveries - this could turn into hot war.

Iran on the edge of repudiating the nuclear deal - we NEED their oil now.

Egypt has started purging the Brotherhood - possible revolution.

Libya falling into civil war - oil pipeline out of action.

its the economy, jobs increased but they were admittedly part time jobs (does that really mean that jobs increased or that the people looking for full time took a part time job)

Yesterday and today most stocks have been constantly falling... when I went to check out prospective stocks on google finance almost all of them were going down....why is this?

Why are so many people selling off their stocks (which Im assuming is the reason for this temporary downfalll)?
