Why do Investment Advisors think you are stupid?

You don't need to go to community classes. to learn about this.

Go to Yahoo Finance. Spend an hour a day reading the articles. Following the links. Checking out the advertisers. In 30 days, with a little study and effort, you will know more than most of the "paid" advisors.

They are in the business to help you invest and make

money, but also looking to make money off of you. If you

don't feel right with this advisor, look for a different one.

Best thing to do is learn how to invest on your own.

Maybe something you said made them think you weren't all that swift?

Most reputable Financial Advisers are paid based on the performance of your portfolio....if YOU lose money, then THEY lose money, too!

BTW, your "investment money" should NEVER be in a Bank....it should be in a Brokerage....it will never have an opportunity to grow (or generate a significant income stream) in a Bank!

Um, this is a pretty silly post. I don't think you are stupid exactly, but...

I was looking to change banks for my small investment. My concern was that I would lose my position in the Market, that when the new advisor took possession, I would be buying high and not have as much ownership. the advisor to whom I would be transferring it to said: "you are invested. When we transfer it over, we will liquidate and invest it in OUR products. and I kept reiterating my concern of buying high. to which he said: "it's like an even transfer". LIAR. I once would have believed that, but I have since educated myself, somewhat. I am going to take some community classes and learn how to do this myself. I don't trust any of the so-called investment advisor or banks.
