A good place to invest some money?

In a low cost mutual fund from Fidelity or Vanguard.

Low cost mutual funds or ETFs, but if you are familar with stock market, then invest in dividend growth stocks is the best investing option, my opinion. If you are not familar with stock market, then I would say learn about it. You can save thousands of dollars from mutual funds fees in long run.

ETFs are a good place to start. Diversification should be your primary short term goal in building a portfolio. You might consider a few individual equities like: Compass Diversified Holdings (CODI) 18.32 , this one pays a nice dividend of 1.44/share. BIP @ 36.81 and 3. GE @ 25.96. I hope this helps.

Depends on the amount of money you have to invest, how old you are and your aversion to market risk.

As Mark Twain said, "I am more concerned with the return OF my money than the return ON my money" And so should you.
