Well I think the question is more of what makes you happy? We can determine that by looking at your list of goals. Are they something that your heart desire mixed with materialistic things. Or is it all materialistic? I knew a lot of people who had a list of things they wanted, house, car, family, nice job, and after they finished..... They were lost and didn't know what else to do, because someone how they became a slave to their jobs! If you want to get into a good paying job (even if the hours are long) just make sure you rack up as much $$$ as you can. When you finally find the desire of what your heart wants to do for a living, then you will have $$ saved up to fund your happiness.
Not every nurse, pharmacist, doctor, does that forever. They build other things that creates residual income.
It depends on your priority. Is it all about the money or your passion? You can be happy because of a great salary despite the downsides or you can be happy doing what you love despite the menial pay. As for investment bankers, making $41,862 - $286,532 a year should be something to be happy about.
I've been researching what a career in investment banking would be like and so far what I've noticed is that the salary is amazing but the hours are brutal. I was wondering if investment bankers are happy with what they do despite working all day and night.
