The delay in a quote IS NOT the current market, only real time quotes reflect the current market
All major brokerage firms provide real time for their customers, TradeKing is not major brokerage firmit is consider a low cost firm but only newbies consider cost as qualifing as a good firm. .You onbly get wht you pay for - cheap does not make a good firm.
Your two answers so far are Amazon and Ebay; geez. Did they even read the question?
Any major brokerage will have real time data. I'm not familiar with the smaller outfits like Tradeking, but maybe you're looking at their simulator. Many simulators are free because they use delayed data. Maybe you have to pay extra for real time data.
You get what you pay for in this business. Saving money is prudent, but you're investing to make money, not save money. Choose a broker that has the resources and tools to help you be successful, not the one that shaves pennies.
The broker can't expect you to trade real time without real time quotes, but you never know until you ask. Call them.

So..
I've been trading the market for just a few months. My cousin actually told me about this website (http://pennystocks.toptips.org)and I signed up immediately after. This is my honest review about their method. I'm not someone who has a lot of time to be researching for ideas because I work many hours. they made it incredibly easy for me to make money in the market. Their reports are easy to read and follow. I've tracked most of the stock ideas that I've received in my e-mail from them and MANY have seen some nice gains after their announcements. I've made a nice profit (55% return on my investment on one, and 112% on the other!) on a couple of suggestions he's given and plan to start trading his ideas a lot more.

Did you try ebay? I have some friends who are stay-at-home mother made some money selling things on ebay.
The trade that you place are execute real-time, only the quotes are delay since you did not subscribe to their real time quotes. You can look at basic real-time quotes at yahoo finance.
Hello,
Recently I opened an account on TradeKing. I was drawn by the low cost per trade and the simple system it uses.
However, upon making a trade or two, I noticed that it says that the quotes are delayed by 15 minutes.
Does that affect my trading price?
Say for example I place a limit order for IBM at $190 because I see that it is currently trading around there. Does that delay mean that the order won't be executed for 15 minutes which means the stock could change in price during those 15 minutes?
Sorry, i'm a bit confused by it. if anyone could help example it to me, that'd be great.
And if I'm looking for a platform that executes trades as close to real time as possible, what platform is the best? I'm a beginner trader so I'm not looking for all the bells and whistles. Just something cheaper and more effective.
thanks.
