Can a Minor invest in the stock market?

Not in North America can a minor open a brokerage account, nor can any one use Paypal, and you can not use a credit card.

A minor can not have their own brokerage account, you can have a parent open a custodian account for you usig your social security number and when you turn 18 the assets (if any) in the account can moved to an account in your name.

How sure can you be that you WILL make money, you could also loose money. I started when I was eleven but before I could do anything, my father made sure I knew what I was doing, how to do it and the rules governing what I wanted to do, and I had to start with a custodian account. But you don't know what you're doing, how to do it and you do not know the rules that govern what you want to do.

You need to be 18 or have a parent/guardian open an account under the "uniform gifts to minors act."

There is a reason minors should not be trading stocks. You are an example. Probably for as long as you've been interested (the last 5 years) the stock market has been pretty much a one-way street upward. If you look at the overall history of the stock market, the recent past is unprecedented in terms of gains. That isn't going to last forever, not even another year. I see a 15% correction minimum coming at some time in the next 8 months. I personally welcome a correction because it will teach the newest generation of investors what things are really like.

Your notion of making a quick fortune in the next year or two is a very bad idea. Any moron can pick "good" stocks when the market goes up 2,000 or 3,000 Dow points in a year. And even geniuses lose money in down markets.

You are too young. You must be 18.

Your parent can open a custodial account for you, BUT is responsible for everything that happens in the account.

BTW, making money by investing is slow.

I am 16, and I need a way to make reasonable sums of money in a short time period since I will start college in september next year and it is really difficult for someone my age to find a job at some place other than a fast food restaurant. (I wouldn't be complaining about that job if I didn't have social anxiety.) That and I also want money to buy more things I want. I also want to know, if I can invest in the stock market, how E-Trade or Ameritrade works, do I need a credit card or paypal, whatever.
