I agree. The round trip of a day trade must be completed the same day. Buying on Monday and selling first thing Tuesday morning is NOT a day trade or count under the SEC and FINRA rules as a pattern day trade.

Nope - it's just a trade within the same business day.

A Monday and Tuesday buy/sell would not be considered a day trade.

I was initially under the impression that a day trade is buying a stock and selling it within 24 hours.. but recently i was told that a day trade is buying and selling a certain stock within that given day.



Say i buy a stock at 11am on monday and sell it at 9:45 am on tuesday.. is that considered a day trade?
