That was my first purchase too when I first got a job. I think it is worth it especially if you use the laptop a lot or have online classes as well. I don't knowI guess decide if there's other things you really need or want to save up for. For example I wanted to move out and because I bought a laptop I couldn't... but I also needed it for homework and my old laptop was really slow... so for me it was a good investment. If you're going to buy one though make sure you shop til you get the best one for that price range or the one you want!

I am about to make my first major purchase as an adult...a laptop. I have done a lot of research and have found one for $800. I refuse to spend more on a laptop. The thing I'm nervous about is coughing up this much money coupled with the fact that laptops don't usually last super long. I don't make a lot of money so $800 seems like an astronomical amount. I was hoping to spend significantly less on a laptop but whatever I found within my preferred range was not what I was looking for in terms of specs and often had poor reviews. I feel like this is a relatively fair price for this item and the specs (considering my budget) are about as good as they're going to get. In other words I've pretty much decided that this is the one. My current computer needs to be replaced soon and I've decided to go for a laptop since I'm a college student.

How do you build up your courage about buying something so expensive?! I don't think I can wait around for a really good sale since I need this soon.
