How can I invest 2,000 dollars?

What kind of ideas can I invest in for 2,000?

Without knowing more of your personal information, and current financial status and other data such as risk tolerance, martial status, demographics current income & expenses it would be very inappropriate for me or any other responsible person, especially a professional from the investment industry, to provide specific investment information in this type of media.

At the same time it would not be prudent of you to accept any specific investment advice from those you personally know nothing about other than a responder here at Yahoo Answers.

Those responders here on YA. that did provide specific investing ideas based on the Information you have provided demonstrate a lack any real investment experience and have also proven that they do not understand the proper communications with new investors suggested by regulatory authorities and for those that claim they have professional titles and/or licenses one would question their integrity and professionalism.

There are many people just like you that are, or were looking to invest and those that did bought Mutual Funds and/or Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). One purpose of mutual funds is to help investors like you, who are either just entering the investment world or who have no investing experience. Once you feel you at least have an understanding of investments you should look into ETFs which are similar to mutual funds but are traded on the exchanges.

Mutual Fund companies as well as ETFs and Master Limited Partnerships have an entire array of products many will fit your needs. Read about the various products and in doing so you will be getting investment ideas and at the same time educating yourself about investing.

You could also contact the funds companies for more information. I have found that Vanguard (http://www.vanguard.com/) & Fidelity Investments (https://www.fidelity.com/)

can meet your needs for mutual funds. The service and information they provide is all free and you will find it helpful. You can also read about Master Limited Partnerships at “the Dividend Detective” http://www.dividenddetective.com/

Regardless of what you decide, do not ever let anyone tell you not to invest, especially those that do not invest themselves.

Good luck on your journey

$2000 allows you to do some of the small and short term savings options with a traditional bank. CD's Bonds, Savings accounts, and some small minimum money market accounts (careful, most of these you want about $10,000+).

Depending on the stocks you're looking to invest in, you might be able to do a little amateur investing there but I don't suggest that.

You can also lend it to friends/family and ask for 10% back at the end of it. This is risky and many times loses your cash but sometimes it works.

There are also collectibles and assets worth buying such as coins, aged spirits, gold, silver, precious gems, paintings, etc, etc. These items can retain value and build value over time and if you take care of the right object, you never know how much it might be worth in the future. I saw a cardboard disney board game that sold for 25 cents (or thereabouts) and it's worth over $1500.00 per antiques road show.

You should invesst in the mutual fund if you are new investor , for new investor SIP is the best option
