I bought this from a jewelry store For 196$ was this a rip off or a good deal?

There are way too many factors that go into finding your answer, for you....

first you must look at the class of gold, that the gold piece is coming form.

*jewelry....not pure gold bullion....is mixed with other metals, to create the jewelry shape, and maintain the shape. so because it is not pure gold bullion, the value is significantly less. but you may also look at any stones in the ring??? if there are any? because stones such as a ruby or a diamond, hold a value pretty well. and that is probably where u will find any, if not all of the value from in your situation.

but if you are thinking about purchasing pure gold bullion, as a long term/ or short term investment. i think that would be a great idea!! but i really recommend staying away form jewelry for any time of turning profit case. and should u want to dabble in basic gold investing, you will want to stay away from coins, and non-currency grade bullion. because both of these are subject to government seizures, and also capital gains tax when u sell them, for your profit.

i personally opt for Currency Grade 999.9% LBMA Certified Pure Gold Bullion, because it is not subject to those things at all, ever. and it has the highest value category in all of the precious metal categories, and maintains that value the longest, and strongest.

ill give the link to where i buy my gold from, incase any passerby’s are seeking that info themselves.

hope that helps someone

Generally 1/2 of the cost is the fashioning of the jewelry. So you maybe have 100 bucks of gold there.

You buy jewelry because you like it - it has a pleasing appearance & you want to wear it. But if you bought it solely for the gold - you got ripped off.

all gold jewelry is massively marked up for retail. if you are looking to sell for the gold value, you will get very little compared to what you paid for it

I think karat is the purity. How much did it weigh would be more to the point

Depends how much you bought.

Gold is about $40 per gram. How did you buy 24 carat gold, that isn't typically seen because it's too soft to use as jewelry.
