How much money should I start investing with?

Whenever you start any kind of business there is going to be some sort of investment up front. A home based business is no different. You will be hard pressed to find any type of legitimate business that you can start without and investment and if you do find one it might only be because of some sort of promotion that they're having because all businesses cost money to start.

To tell you the truth, $500-1000 is generally bare minimum. But, don't expect to earn a whole lot off of it, either. If you hold the shares for a long time (say, a few months at least), you'll probably earn a few hundred, maybe.

Remember, you need to factor in commissions fees as well, which, at most places, chug a lot out of your trades.

Honestly though, the amount of capital doesn't really matter, but don't expect fast gains with low capital.

Start with amount you are not afraid to loose.

You may always add more funds later when you feel more confident in your investment choices

I was wondering how much money it would take for me to start investing in stocks. I have seen articles online that say I should start investing as soon as possible and that I can start with any amount. But I know that I need between $500-1000 to start an account on most if the online trading websites. What is the recommended amount to start with? And how much would I be able to make by investing in stocks? I don't make a lot of money where I work, I'm only making a little over minimum wage. And I'm putting about $100 from every paycheck into my saving account. I don't know how much money I would put into an account to start, probably just the minimum amount.
