1 share split into 7
7 shares of stock at $10 per share = $70 capital
The split does not add value to your account at the time of the split.
You take this very peculiar device called a PENCIL. Then with a piece of paper (your choice of whether or not it has lines on it or not) and you use the PENCIL as a writing device and record the stock name and date and the price the stock split. You might even want to record the exact number of shares you own of that stock and then write down the NEW number of shares of stock that you now own.
