Go to assetbuilder.com and look for Couch Potato Portfolio.

Diversification made easy.

Go through Fidelity and buy iShares ETF's at no charge to you.

Buy SPY, DIA, DVY, VIG for only 7.95 per order.

There is another choice. You can stay with Fidelity (terrific firm) and buy index ETFs.

VTI (Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF) would be a good first choice. Broad diversification at very low cost.

Hello im 22 and want to start investing in long time stocks. My dad has been pitching me ideas about it but im not too educated on the subject.

I currently just hold a Roth IRA with Fidelity. However, to start investing in index funds through fidelity i must make an initial investment of $2,500 which is alot more than what i can afford to give out at once.

My other option that i looked at was computershare in which i can make initial investment of $250 and buy a direct stock plan.

I don't know what the best option for me is, i was leaning towards doing computershare but have no idea if its better to save up the $2,500 or begin by buying direct stocks.

Any help would be great!
