If I have a revocable trust and specify someone as recipient of the funds in a bank account with a POD,?

is the substitute trustee required to honor that Payable On Death if it is to another person?

Agree with src both in the priority and what does the trust have to do with the bank account. To the best of my knowledge you can't title a bank account to a trust but still have a POD. How is someone going to show p with a document that says "The trust died". And you can't make a bank account pay out on the death of someone who is not the owner of the bank account, i.e., "My bank account but my kid gets it when Jimmy Carter (bless his heart) dies".

If the bank has a POD designation, that takes priority. What does the trust have to do with the bank account?

Thanks. The bank account is in a trust. I was not aware a trust could not have a POD. Now that you mention it, it is obvious.
