To add on from Above, most brokerages don't charge you to open an account, and have pretty low initial dollars to put in your account $500 in most low cases. You would though be charged per each trade based on their fee schedule.

So I want to invest in stock online; but I don't want to have to pay to sign up, & I defiantly DON'T want to give my social security no. is there any website that I can sign up and NOT give my social no. and its free?
