I wish to negotiate a unique investment with someone--
what ways exist otherwise?
a house in exchange for a % of the equity of an invention..........
This doesn't make a lot of sense as English sentences.
The main "question" line sounds roughly like it is stating (not asking) that Linked In gives bad benefits (I'm not sure if you mean to their users or to their employees), but if so, what is the question about it? The Additional Information sounds like you are saying you have given up on Facebook (or perhaps myspace?) and Twitter and want someone to trade a house for equity in a company which will market an invention, but it's not clear if you want to give an inventor your house or you want someone to give you their house in exchange for a piece of your invention.
And if one of those two is what you are looking to do, I'm not really sure why you are posting it here. Yahoo Answers really isn't designed to connect inventors with investors, and the interface isn't well-suited to that. This makes me wonder if I've misunderstood what you mean.
Can you say a little more to clarify?
EDIT TO ADD:
So you'll choose a house (presumably within an agreed-upon price range) which the person will buy for you and in exchange, you will teach them about your invention, which they can then work to make profitable? Is that correct?
FURTHER ADDITION:
So why why aren't you just selling the 50% equity in the company for cash? That would sound much more professional to me than getting into a deal involving a house that really has nothing to do with the business. You can use the money to buy a house if you want, but in order to attract the deal in the first place, you will probably have to work things out so that the investor can see fairly concretely how the money is helping the business grow, such as by making it possible for you to work on the idea. I don't think, for example, that you are likely to get an investor if you just plan to sell them the idea and expect them to do all the work of making it profitable.
I encourage you to think long and hard about whether there is any way you can start your business (even if you have to start small) to prove your concept without outside investment. Here is an article that I think is worth reading: http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/2305...
Can you elaborate a little better? I am actually creating my own social network in hopes of it being as large as Facebook, Twitter, and Linked IN. Want to invest?
