Your question requires more info in order to give a correct answer. What's the balance and interest rate on your mortgage? How old are you? When do you intend to retire? What is your risk tolerance? How much extra per month would the amount be? What's your marital status and combined income? What's your tax rate? Those answers will allow me to give you a suitable response. If you want a generalized answer: Would your net rate of return on your investment be higher than the (tax-deductible) interest rate on your mortgage? If so, invest. Take note that this is a mathematical answer and doesnt factor in psychological and emotional benefits of paying the mortgage.
