Stock Market Question?

I can relate to your situation, I started investing in the 7th grade and continued investing through high school, didn't start trading until I started college.

You have to keep studying the markets and the various products in those markets. By the time you get into college it would be helpful if you knew as many of the products as possible and where and how they trade.

As you are studying it would be in your best interest to learn what you need as a market participant.

Don't concern yourself with "day trading" since day trading is only holding a position for a short period of time - a little less than an investor but longer than a scalper. It takes years of trading to become a "day trader" and it takes years of investing to become a trader.

You have to concentrate of learning what's all about before you decide where you want to fit in. In the meantime take advantage of your situation and learn all you can, not only with the markets (this you will have to do own your own since the academic world does not prepare you for the industry). but you will lhave to cover such subjects as finance, accounting, statisitcs, computer science, busisness law and english.

Here's some books that will help you with your trading

How to Trade in Stocks, Jesse Livermore

One Up on Wall Street by Peter Lynch

The Disciplined Trader, Mark Douglas

Trader Vic-Methods of a Wall Street Master, Victor Sperandeo

Trader Vic II-Principles of Professional Speculation, Victor Sperandeo

Trading for a Living, by Alexander Elder

Trading in the Zone, Mark Douglas

Good luck on your journey, stay in school, study hard and you'll be able to invest wekk

I am currently a 17 year old junior at my high school, I turn 18 in October

One career path I am interested in is the stock market, I like the idea that the harder you work the more money you can make, and there is just something about it that just captivates me. I have done a lot of research and I have read up a lot about diffrent types of stocks and trading, and I I play investing games.

What I am wondering is, going forward through my senior year and into college, what all should I do? And what do I need to do, to become involved in stocks.

Right now I'm not sure if I would want to be a broker or a day trader.

Thank you
