Set up an electronic trading account with Charles Schwab and transfer some money in. They have a very helpful site that will make it easy for you. But be ware, the stock market is very high right now and overdue for a correction.
just like baseball. you buy a ticket (through a ticket broker) and go sit in the bleachers. If you get tired of sitting there, you sell your ticket. Sometimes for less, maybe for more if it is a popular game.
But do remember, just because you bought a ticket does not mean you get to help manage the team.
But at a young age, just put your money in the bank. It will make you money that way, too.
The best way to learn is from a good book or three like Stock Investing for Dummies and The Millionaire Next Door, available at your local library for free.
