Warren Buffett - Teach skills to others instead of giving away money?

Posted at: 2014-12-05
Warren Buffett has written NUMEROUS books explaining EXACTLY how to do what he has done, though it really only takes a paragraph to explain; Identify companies that are well-run, have sound business models, and offer a sustainable Return On Investment, then BUY those companies (or their shares), and hold them forever...

It's not complicated!

Quite apart from which it is HIS MONEY, so he's free to do with it whatever makes HIM happiest!

Warren Buffett has written several books hoping to pass along his investment savvy.

Answerer "xyzzy" in incorrect about stocks being a zero sum "game".

Yes, a person can gamble with stocks, hoping to sell it for a quick profit because of the weekly or monthly swings in price.

But when you hold stock in a quality company over a period of time, the price of the stock will go up for a real reason; it is earning money every year and becoming more valuable. This is not gambling; you are owner of a money making business. It takes time for the business to earn money.

If you save a portion of your income each payday and as it accumulates invest in stocks, over the course of several years you can grow very wealthy indeed. It is like hiring someone to get a job and earn money for you, and then using that money to hire more workers. Your money grows exponentially.

That is exactly what Warren Buffett has done.

. .

Trading stocks is a bit of a zero sum game. One person doesn't win unless someone else loses.

It isn't entirely zero sum in that if your pricing models are better than others, then your trading puts a more efficient price into the the market, which ultimately means that capital will be more efficiently deployed.

But, ultimately Buffet has shared his knowledge with the world.

He can teach you but thats doesnt mean that you are going to be a billionaire

He provide information all the time
