For those of you really liking Gold as an investment... do your research. The high of Jan 1980 took investors 30 years to break even. Stick to what you know or what you are good at.
Plenty of people have made money selling collectibles (very small amount).
When it comes to investing.... stocks, real estate, fine art, cars and collectibles can all be very profitable.
Although real estate has thousands of years of historic performance as a great investment... it lacks liquidity.
The stock market is a great investment if done right is only 412 years old and has better liquidity.
It is all going to come back to education and desire... what do you want to do.
Just do it and forget what the little people say... it is your life and your decision.
The greatest thing you can invest in is yourself . Spend your extra money on your hair style, your clothes and shoes, your appearance, and of course , your education . Language courses, for example will net you a better paying job . You are your own future. Not some Comic book that you invest $ 15 today and 30 years from now, its worth $ 30 and only to the one person who must have it . As an example lets just say you are a Mercedes salesperson earning $ 100,000 selling fine cars to English speaking customers . Sounds great , right ? Now, whenever a Spanish person comes in if you don't speak Spanish you just gave away a commission . You could be making $ 200,000 . That's called investing in yourself !
The market with comic books can easily crash, just like it did for those beanie babies. If you want to invest do it with gold or get yourself a higher education degree.
Sure. Comic books are better than filthy old gold antday.
Try Real Estate. SFB.
your guess is as good as the next guy except for items(gold, silver etc) that historically are solid investments
my husband sent a gorilla toy to my children when he was stationed overseas, and the toy eventually no longer worked so we trashed it, but 20 yrs later they were selling for $15K!
who knew!
How much do you have to invest? Small amount? ($500 or less) gold/silver coins.
Larger amount? ($5,000+) blue chip stock ETF's: DIA, SPY,DVY
