You say you "know" it's risky.
Having heard that penny stocks are risky is entirely different than "knowing" the risks. Without knowing where to trade them or how to find find them, it is apparent you "know" nothing at all about pennies or how to research them or do you "know" how important research becomes; much more important than normal stocks. If you won't do the work to find them, neither will you do the work to research them, and are just gambling. Even so, do you "know" about their limited disclosure requirements?
They have different/limited listing requirements along with fewer filing and regulatory standards. Do you "know" how to interpret this limited data?
Do you "know" how to trade their lack of liquidity and large bid-ask spreads?
Do you "know" what low liquidity means?
Did you "know" that you can't use market orders in low liquidity environments? Also, do you "know" that you can't use stops with pennies, because a stop becomes a market order when executed?
Do you "know" how a Pump & Dump scheme works, and how it can take your money in a few seconds? Did you "know" there is nothing you can do about it?
Do you "know" ANY good trading strategies?
A trader focuses on risk first, not mythological profits you have no potential to make. You have no idea the risks you will be undertaking.
Novice investors make the very critical mistake that a penny stock is a company that is just starting out or immature and just waiting to bust out. In fact, most penny stocks are priced so cheaply because the value and fundamentals of the underlying company is basically junk. The companies normally have very high debt, negative retained earnings, bad management, etc. Most penny stock companies will not be around for the long term as they are mostly smaller cap stocks, which have an extremely high long term failure rate. A penny stock is MUCH more likely to lose all of its value over the long term, than to make money. They can be fun to play with using small amounts of money, but NOT a very wise investment tool.
