I got 4000 dollars and i was thinking to invest it somehow or simply spend it, what would you do?

-no i dont have bills to pay

put 2500 into a Roth IRA and don't touch it until you retire, put 500 into a CD with a 5 yr term, put 500 into a 2 yr CD and donate 500 to the charity of your choice. you will get a tax credit and do something good

Pay down any debts you have.

Then decide if you have anything you want to spend it on (car, etc)

If you have leftover money, invest it.

Ive had many times in my life where I was graced with somewhat large sums of money. Ive nothing to show for it as I wasted it away on STUFF. I say invest at least half of it.

Read what the "experts" are saying about Facebook (FB). It is positioned to take advantage of the mobile market, which should be huge. The stock is "predicted" to increase 50 to 300% in the next couple of years. Based on that, I bought some FB. (but I have been wrong before)

Spend 10% Give 10% Invest the rest in stocks/mutual funds

I would buy something that I KNEW was worth quite a bit more and re-sell it to make a profit. Like buy a jet ski in the winter and re-sell it just as summer was coming when demand was higher and prices better. Or buy a snow blower in the summer and re-sell it for a profit the first day of a big snowstorm 6 months later. Educate yourself on what things are worth, and then you'll know a great deal when you come across it. Do this over and over and then you can take a big vacation, buy a car or house, whatever you want!

Do what any other smart person would do and buy 4000 things from the dollar store

If you recognize that you don't know what you are doing - then obviously don't invest it and TRY to make money.

Instead, save half of the amount, and spend the other half.
