Why didn't I see the gain on the stocks?

In the North American securities industries all securities transactions are posted to the account as of the settlement date

Equities settle on the third business day following the day of trade,

So you sale and the money related to it will be posted on the settlement day of the trade

Also rather asking the unknowns here on Y.A. it would smarter if you pick up the phone and asked Scxwab, they would give you a response immediately

Jesus. The amount in your account didn't go up because the settlement date still hasn't happened. If you're going to invest you had better figure out the basics. Plus, even an $8 transaction fee on a $50 gain (plus you had $8 to buy it) is a huge chunk. Your net is going to be $36. That's an awful lot of farting around to make $36.

That is a high transaction fee.

The settlement date (when you get the money) is usually a few days after the trade.

I've been trying to buy most of my money into one stock, and sell it after the stock gains value.

Using Charles Schwab, I bought into a stock company and I gained 50$ the next day and sold it. But, I didn't see the money added into my account? In fact the money in my account decreased. The transaction fee is only 8$.
