Another reason is, as much as I shouldn't be saying this, is probably because those VISA gift cards are stolen or activated illegally, and these people want to cash them out "legally" (since you cannot withdraw cash from them directly), and then deposit them or further cash out those money orders at a Money Mart or similar.
I know it's not your business, however, this is very suspicious behaviour. I highly suggest you report to your manager about it. Later down the road, if any of these people turn out to be involved in a major money theft and laundering operation, they'll throw you in and blame you for being the one always willingly assisting them.
These crooks likely illegally activated (or had friends that illegally activated) prepaid VISA cards at another store, unbeknownst of the store's manager, and is using Walmart's services to cash them out, since Walmart's the last place any person would suspect to be involved with money laundering, being a major corporation.
Tell your manager. This is a pretty serious issue, and shouldn't be brushed off. Think about it: Why would these people have so many fully prepaid VISA cards? And daily, too? It's just not logical if it wasn't dirty.
Maybe he's a drug dealer... Doesn't like paper trail... or avoiding taxes lol
I work at Walmart and just accepted a job offer to move from a cashier to customer service. Now i encounter a guy that comes to Walmart everyday to buy money orders in the amount of $999.30. He buys two of them which adds up to $2,000 because Walmart charges $0.70 per money order. Then he uses 4 prepaid visa gift cards that have $500 on each to pay for both the money orders. I wanted to ask him why he does this everyday but I am not the type of person who gets into other people business. So i wanted to ask here. Does anyone know why people do this? Hes not the only one that does it anyways but still interesting to know.
