Would it be better to take a math major or a finance major or do a double to go into investment banking?

If you want to be an investment banker, then go with the finance major, and then go on to your MBA. If you want to work for a hedge fund, get the math degree, then your masters, then your Phd. Hedge funds love hiring scientists these days to develop and test new trading strategies, particularly high frequency trading strategies. Keep in mind, in both cases, you need to keep your GPA at 3.5 and above as the competition for these jobs is fierce.

I have a BS in Math from a good university and I cannot get an interview for any job that actually asks for a math degree. I also have 12 years of work experience. Degree does not matter; who you know matters.

Accounting. A CPA can do anything a CFA can and has more options outside. They could be a district manager, HR, etc.

Finance major is all you need.
