Young guy setting up a trust?

The best way to shield your children from debt is to not have any of your own. Setting up a trust for an imaginary person/people who may never exist is stupid. You're not living in the real world if you think you don't need that money. Put it in to savings and focus on YOUR life, not the lives of people who don't exist.

No, you save it period for future car repairs etc.. I went to Florida for 2 weeks after graduation and had a blast so as to pay myself for MY accomplishments. Reward yourself. Money is hard to come by. Hard times are still ahead.

You can't create a trust for the benefit of persons who do not yet exist.

I usually work summers and winters, and make a bit of money, but not much (1.5-2.25k) each time, and I realized it's all just sitting there because I don't actually need it or want anything. I am also a college student and in a few years, the debt hammer is going to come crashing down on me - that made me get to thinking "Maybe I can put that money in a trust for my future children?"

I know some people would say use that to pay your debt, but it won't even make a dent and I would rather pay my debt and try my best to secure my children from debt (if I have any) so yeah. How can I go about this, being that I'm not rich (or anywhere near it)?

I am 19 y.o.
