Buying Stocks on Etrade?

You should buy boring companies with long track records of paying dividends. Reinvest those dividends and you will build wealth.

humm... I don't think you can really get a help from a professional trader here... my suggestion - try some small specific trader forums and ask your question there. I would suggest especially small forums as the admins will be interested to provide the very best possible answer for their members (in later stages quantity takes over quality).

As for myself (I'm not into investing) - I know only 1 small and neutral investing forum Techsecs.co.uk (one of the founders is a professional trader at a large UK company)... I like to ask my dummy investment questions there - and they always get answered :)

The $10 commission only comes into effect if there is a trade - so if you don't actually buy or sell stock there is no fee.

So I am completely new to buying stocks, and I know that I should learn more and I will probably fail but thats not the point, Anyways

I went to buy a stock and at the bottom it says "Good for the Day" or something like that so I looked that up and it looks like that means I will be trying to buy it for the day with my limit price and if nobody accepts it or the price doesn't go down then the order is canceled and I get my money back. The thing I don't get though is when you buy a stock you have to pay that $10 Brokerage fee or whatever, So do I get that back also or is that gone? Thanks in Advance, I'll remember your answers when I am a Billionaire :)
