No. The company is an inaminate object. Let's say you buy a car and sell it at a profit. The car doesn't lose/make money.
Dividends from stocks are similar to interest paid on savings accounts. In both cases people put money in a company which the company re-invests and makes a profit from. In return, they give part of their earnings to the people who invested their money. However, they also keep a large amount of the profits for themselves as profit and to re-invest in the company.
If us people make money from it, then wouldn't the company loose money? Sorry, i hardly even know what stocks are, so this might a stupid question,
