REITS are known to keep up with inflation but you shouldnt invest everything into REITS. Keep a diversifed portfolio, ignore short term market news and invest long term through dollar cost average. You can make 10% annually so 100k will be worth over 200k ten yrs due to compound interest.

A Real Estate Investment Trust can earn a decent amojnt for an experienced investor. You lack the experience to make a responsible decision on REITs.
I would have more faith in your ailities if you asked, "...over 10 years" instead of "...in 10 years".
The management fees, the loss of an anchor, changes in state law, even changes in federal law (recall TRA 86!) all can be harmful.
Consider learning more of the risks vs. rewards.
Since you did not take the effort to put a question mark after "etc", electing instead to place a period, I really believe you should not invest in an asset that requires contemplation.
In a few years, you may be ready.
