Is common stock a long-term or current asset?

Long-term means not easy to convert into cash while Current Asset is categorized as items are easy to convert into cash. For Common Stock,,, if the term is under 1 year then it should be Current Asset for sure.

"Long-term" as applies to stocks only concerns how any capital gains are taxed. All stocks are "current assets" as long as you own them because they can be sold at any time.

I know that generally it depends on whether or not the stock is going to last a year, but I'm being asked to label several items as long-term or current assets and one of these items is common stock. in other words, i'm asking for the general answer. please help, and thanks!
