Stick with credit unions... more stable. The big banks are insolvent and have a court ruling saying they are allowed to take depositors' money to pay uninsured investors.

I don't see why. Having a bank account gives you somewhere to put savings if you happen to be a saver. It doesn't make you into a saver if you are a natural spendthrift.
