Is possessing Silver or Gold a decent investment?

Possessing Gold is a decent investment because the market price is crashed by 40% approximately from the highest pric

Silver and gold have never been great investments, and are not now. If you enjoy owning it, like to look at it and hold it, appreciate its beauty, then you should buy some. But don't buy it as an investment.

If you are expecting a global economic collapse, say from the spread of Ebola, then yes.

If you are looking for a way to have your money earn more money then that is a poor way.

Precious metals on the average keep pace with the inflation rate. That is better than burying money in the back yard, but not by much.

. .

I bought Gold coins in the 70,s over one hundred sold them all . I paid 120 a coin, sold for 1250,00 a piece, all the money went in to a investment account. Its now going to be used to pay for my cancer treatment.Never intended to cash in.till i retired.

Metals BARELY keep pace with inflation, so are NOT an "investment" any more than putting cash in a cardboard box under your bed is an "investment"!

Gold has been trending down the last month. If you can correctly guess when it bottoms out, then you have a chance of making some money. (You can also guess at lottery numbers.)
