There are too many of them to make any sweeping generalizations.

You have to understand that stock brokers recommend stocks to induce you to trade, not because they care about your portfolio returns. To a broker, any trade is a good trade.

Nowhere. If you want a career, it's going to be about advancing your employer's investment philosophy, not your own. If you have an investment philosophy, you don't need a career; you need capital.

Ok im just curious and wondering when prop traders trade stocks do they only hold for short term? Must they have a consistent return every month? Do they not invest for a long term gain? or do they just think short term volatile stocks?

For stock brokers when reccomending stocks, is their philosophy the same? do they only think short term?

Ive read much about investing. Where would i start if i wanted to start a career with my investment philosphy of long term?

thank you
