You want books by successful investors, like the owner of Investor's Business Daily newspaper, William O'Neil, with specific actions you can take, advice on strategy and method, not books by stage orators like Napolean Hill or Robert Kiyosaki'. Take a look at O'neil's CANSLIM method and incorporate his newspaper with it.
Also consider value investing as a mainstay of your strategy. Benjamin Graham is the one that influenced Warren Buffet at Columbia University.
Graham's primary focus was on risk first and foremost. Compare this to the typical beginner's focus on mythological profits they can make. Most people cannot accurately define risk.
"The Intelligent Investor", has gained recognition as one of the best and most important investment pieces written illustrating the fundamentals of a value-investing strategy.

I've been told the book "Security Analysis by Benjamin Graham and David Dodd." is like the bible of stock investments, but i would like to know a more basic book that can teach me basic terms and ideas prior to reading it.
any suggestions would be great, thanks.
