Why are soybean stocks so high?

Soybeans are not stocks, they are commodities. And why in the world would you think that comparing bushels or weight or whatever of a commodity, that being higher in price means anything at all? A bushel of gold would be a million dollars. So what? All it means is that it's worth more per pound. Does that say anything about the quality of the investment? No.

So, I've always had an interest in the stock market, although I admittedly know very little about it. So anyway, I was looking at some numbers online and saw soybeans were at 1,485.00. Which sounds very high to me, as well as wheat (721.50) and corn at (507.00). So I was just curious as to why they're so high. Any help would be very appreciated, thank you in advance!
