Excel is used heavily to create models for valuing companies, so both kinds of analysts, growth and value would use it extensively.. There are ton's of books out there, and knowledge of Excel is most valuable and creates a lot less stress when working with large data groups.
I just discovered a Function called 'Duration' for bond calculations./ I know it is used to model theoretical values of options in order to hedge. It is uded for comparing US & UK T_Bills.
